The Othón P. Blanco City Cemetery is ready for some 2,500 visitors this Mother's Day, the date on which families gather to visit the final resting place of the one who gave them life.

Juan de Dios Buenfil Durán, cemetery manager, said that because of the influenza virus, the chapel where mass has been celebrated for some years was closed, but the facilities are ready for the occasion.

President Felipe Calderón announced tonight that Tuesday will be given to detailing a set of economic measures which will seek to minimize the impact on national finances affected by the health emergency facing Mexico.

These include compensation payments from income tax (ISR) with monthly payments of the Special Single Tax Rate (IETU), a plan to promote Mexicn tourism worldwide, and a decrease in taxes on cruise ships arriving in the country.

Package with supports and tax incentives for contingency

Because of the health risk caused by the presence of the human influenza virus AH1N1 in the state and for the purpose of maintaining the workforce of our organization and encouraging the sustainability of our economic activity, various grants, tax incentives and benefits of all citizens and taxpayers of the State will be awarded, informed the State Secretary of Finance, Fredy Marrufo Martin.

This is based on the decree published in the Periódico Oficial del Estado No. 37 Extraordinario, which came into force on May 8 this year, which among others, provides that taxpayers who have to pay the payroll tax there will be be a stimulus consisting of a tax allowance of 30 per cent tax for May, June and July 2009.

Taxpayers forced to pay the payroll tax will have the option to defer the payment of this contribution for April, May and June 2009, and can settle each in 5 equal parts during August to December of this year.

To avoid job losses in the northern zone of the entity arising from the healthcare contingency, the president of the Mexican Caribbean Tour Operators, Doris Mingüer Alcocer, proposed to the Municipality of Othon P. Blanco and the State Secretariat of Tourism (Sedetur) that they create scholarships for experts in the tourism and restaurant industry in the north to come to Chetumal to train their counterparts in the south of Quintana Roo.

In the capital, renters in the "new" market were supported by the Municipality of Othon P. Blanco, when a series of measures taken will start this Wednesday to protect them from damage caused by unfair competition from street vendors and improve their sales, said the market manager, Manuel Carrillo. Ro­dol­fo Es­pa­das Is­té, director of community economic development explained, following an internal meeting between tenants and local authorities, that new provisions within the market of Ignacio Manuel Altamirano will have people there to instruct and keep out the unauthorized vendors. He stated that the project will be gradually established in other markets, and was not made to eliminate what was decided at the November 27 last year meeting between the officials of the Commune, the EU directiv of tenants and the coordinator and administrator of the Lázaro Cárdenas market."

MAHAHAUL, OPB .- After a huge Easter brought more than 17 thousand visitors in three days, the Mahahual resort "returned to reality" and was mostly evacuated despite being the weekend. This situation has been created -- from the viewpoint of authorities and service providers-not just by the financial crisis, but the health risk in the country.

Were it not for the fishing tournament "Copa Gobernador" (Governor's Cup) that takes place in its waters, the most important destination for the South Zone is more like a "ghost town", say merchants and residents.
