How to take care of flu

Influenza is a viral respiratory illness that occurs commonly in winter, but there may be instances at other times of the year, although it is not common. Follow these steps and avoid the risk of contagion.

Symptoms

If you have or know someone with some of these symptoms, go immediately to your medical unit and do not self-medicate.

  • Sudden fever
  • Muscular pain especially in the back
  • Sore throat
  • Cough
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Extreme fatigue

1. Strengthen your hygiene habits:

  • Wash your hands with soap (preferably liquid) and water.
  • When you sneeze cover your mouth with a tissue or your forearm
  • Immediately throw the tissue in the garbage and wash your hands.

2. At home:

  • Keep your house ventilated, but without strong currents of air.
  • Allow the sun to come into your house..
  • In your kitchen and bathroom, keep clean all covers, door handles and railings, as well as toys, telephones, and things you touch often.

3. Avoid:

  • Shaking hands or kissing others if you are sick.
  • Contact with people who are sick.
  • Crowds of people.
  • Sharing food.
  • Spitting on the floor.
